Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) are essential fatty acids that the human body cannot produce on its own and therefore must be obtained from the diet. In pregnant women, they are essential for the neurological development of the fetus. However, studies have shown that they may also be important for the correct timing of pregnancy and the appropriate birth weight of the baby.

The source of DHA and EPA for our products is algae oil. Seaweed is considered the primary source of omega-3. Global fish stocks are declining and cannot be a sustainable source of omega-3 fatty acids. Algae grow very quickly and do not contribute to overfishing, making them a more sustainable source of omega-3 than fish oil, which also carries the risk of chemical contaminants (e.g. mercury) that can be harmful to consumers (source)

Avocado oil contains monounsaturated fats and fat-soluble antioxidants, which are associated with improved maternal health, birth outcomes, and breast milk quality. Some phytochemicals in the oil are associated with the prevention of cancer, age-related macular degeneration, and cardiovascular disease.

Vitamin C increases the absorption of iron, contributes to the normal function of the immune system and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. It also affects the functioning of the nervous system and energy metabolism. It is an excellent antioxidant and thus contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.

Vitamin E is a strong antioxidant and thus contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.

Peppermint essential oil contributes to normal digestion and the normal function of the immune system.
