Folic acid is a water-soluble vitamin of the B group. It is a substance that is essential for the formation of nucleic acids, in hematopoiesis and has an irreplaceable role in the growth and development of the fetus. It plays a role in the process of cell division, supplying tissues with nutrients and oxygen and maintaining healthy blood vessels of the mother and fetus. According to studies, sufficient active form of folic acid in the body during pregnancy can prevent spinal cord defects, insufficient nutrition and development of the fetus or improper blood supply to the placenta.
Folic acid must be converted into an active form after entering the body, which is ensured by the MTHFR enzyme. Women who suffer from a gene mutation for this enzyme may have problems conceiving or carrying a baby to term. In our products, folic acid is contained in an already active methylated form, which means that it does not have to be activated after entering the body and the woman has an effective form of the vitamin available.

Why does the product contain exactly 400μg of folate? My gynecologist recommended 800μg of folic acid per day.
According to clinical studies, 400μg of folate is a sufficient amount. Verra Complex Fertility & Pregnancy contains folate in its active (methylated) form, ensuring maximum absorption. Other supplements often contain it in an inactive form, requiring higher supplementation.
Will Verra Complex Fertility & Pregnancy help regulate my menstrual cycle?
Yes, it helps regulate and harmonize the menstrual cycle, supports ovulation, and reduces menstrual pain. However, if you are not planning to conceive, we recommend using the Menstruation Complex, which has a more suitable composition for that purpose.
Can I open the capsules and drink the contents?
We would not recommend this, as the capsule serves an important function. The contents may stick to the glass and the oral cavity, preventing adequate absorption in the intestinal lining.
Do your vitamins contain iodine?
Yes, Verra Complex Fertility & Pregnancy contains 53% of the recommended daily intake (RDI) of iodine. This amount is set to be safe even for women with an overactive thyroid. However, if you have any thyroid conditions, we recommend consulting your doctor.
