D-mannose prevents the adhesion of bacteria (uropathogenic strains of Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Shigella, Leishmania, Mycobacteria, etc.) to the surface of the tissue, thereby helping to prevent recurrent urinary tract infections. Clinical studies have confirmed the high efficacy and safety of the use of D-mannose and concomitantly acting substances (e.g. cranberry anthocyanins) in the treatment of cystitis and other bladder infections.
